Mileva Stankovic, Monthly Author!

This month I interviewed Mileva about her books and what she has coming up! Please read on to find out more about this fascinating author!

Let's start with what books have you published so far?

A novel “Saga o Belutku” (In Serbian)

Silence: Poetry Anthology and How to Motivate Yourself to Do Anything - Available on Amazon.

A novel “Dijagonala u Abnormali”  (In Serbian) - Available on Lulu.

Now we know about your books, we'd like to know about you, tell us about yourself Mileva, we're all curious!

I live in Serbia, in a small town near the capital. I have a bunch of cats that I adore and my hobbies mostly include hanging online and writing. I have graduated from the Academy of Criminalistic and Police Studies back in 2013 but I decided that writing is the path I wish to follow.

What got you into writing?

I read a lot, and one day I wanted to create a world of my own. Luckily, I got to write the whole novel and my dream came true.

What’s the main thing you love and hate about writing?

There is nothing I hate in writing per se. I find editing to be tough, but all the love I nurture for writing balances it.

Who is the worst villain you’ve ever written, and why?

My worst villain is Amanda, a woman who works for a top-secret agency. She’s all fun and cute on the outside, and can fool anyone, but on the inside, she’s a cold and calculated murderer.

She sounds terrifying, what is next on your list to write/publish?

Currently, I’m editing the Abnormally Sane, which is a translation of the novel published on Lulu. I’m also working on a manual for book marketing.

Who is your favourite author, and why?

Friedrich Nietzsche is one of my favourite authors because his philosophy is the thing that I can come back to and always discover something else, depending on how I feel in the moment.

Who encouraged you the most to write?

My whole family did.

They sound supportive! Are you as avid a reader as a writer?

When I started writing I found that reading bothered me. So I would say no, but that must change.

What’s your favourite genre?

I love reading almost any genre, but in writing I find Sci Fi to be the most liberating one and thrillers the easiest one to write.

Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what type? Or can’t you stand background noise when writing?

I listen to music, yes. I’ve listened to People Help People by Birdy and now Billie Eilish.

If you could interview any famous author who would it be and why?

Anne Rice. I would love to know more about how she came to create Lestat.

Anne Rice is one I'd like to interview too! Tell us a secret that none of your fans know!

I like to cosplay. On a low budget, but still…

Tell me what your main character would say about you!

Pretty sure all of them would slap me in the face and leave without saying a word.

Ouch! Finally, any words of advice?

Do what you want and don’t fall under this world’s influence.
