Everyone has always asked me why the Trusts don’t exist in real life like in my books? And I thought, why not? Good question. Together with Emmaleigh Loaders Wynters, Jules Ford, Nicola Thorpe, Chasity Mahala and Jordie Howes, we are setting up a GoFundMe site to raise money for the armed forces. We are collecting money from now, until Christmas, to send to soldiers who receive no gifts, necessities and cards at this time of year. This money will be spent to ensure that no soldier feels lonely or sad at Christmas.
​
We would like to also donate an amount to a soup kitchen to supply a Christmas meal for a war veteran living on the streets. PTSD and injuries can irrevocably harm a person’s self-belief, esteem and change their perception of life. Many veterans are living on the streets because they can’t cope with everyday life as we see it. As of yet, we may not be able to make the book version of the Phoenix Trust come to life, but we will start somewhere!

Our third goal is to donate sleeping bags and blankets to a centre that the armed forces veterans attend so they can at least stay warm. And should we exceed our target, any excess money will be donated to centres for prosthetic limbs for the brave wounded.
​
And our final goal will be announced in August/September with a PO Box number for you to send cards too, so we can include them in the packages.
​
So please, let those who put their life on the line for us know that they are not alone at Christmas and never will be. An everyday hero, as I call them, has touched every one of us at one time or another. This is such an important thing for us, so we are raising as much money as you can donate, weekly, monthly, or a one-off donation. It all helps. Together with Emmaleigh Loaders Wynter, Jules Ford, Nicola Thorpe, Chasity Mahala and Jordie Howes, we are setting up a GoFundMe site to raise money for children living in poverty or in a home. Often, through no fault of their own, a child is taken from an abusive situation and placed in community homes until foster parents can be found. Many are frightened, scared, and belligerent. Defensive at what may happen to them next. They feel alone and isolated. We want them to know they are not alone and that somebody cares.
​
Our target for Elizabeth’s Eternal Trust is to share the funds raised to deliver every child a Christmas gift and card to know they are being thought of. It may not seem much to us, but it would be huge for them. It would be something directly theirs. There is nothing worse than being dropped at a foster family a week before Christmas and having nothing to open. Or being in a care home and not receiving a present.
​
Our second target is to be able to supply a care home/shelter with a gift card to help buy clothing and necessities for those children. Having your own bottle of deodorant makes an enormous difference to a child’s pride. Or new pj’s or new shoes and not hand-me-downs.
​
And our third target is to raise funds to donate to the shelters to provide counselling, buddy networks, and improve properties, such as new bedding or a new tv. Perhaps we could help sponsor a child safety phone line. Perhaps even put some money towards a scholarship. Let’s aim high.
​

We may not be able to make the Eternal Trust in my books come real yet, but we can begin somewhere. So let’s make that start today and give a wounded child hope and a future. As Phoe says in my books, even five bucks can make a difference. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all in advance.

With Jules Ford, Emmaleigh Loaders Wynter, Nicola Thorpe, Chasity Mahala and Jordie Howes, I am setting up a GoFundMe site to raise money for those who have escaped an abusive relationship. Many of them spend time in rescue shelters and face a lonely and frightening time at Christmas. Even worse, if they have children, they may feel like a failure for failing to provide a safe environment through no fault of their own but also not being able to give their child a gift.
​
We can’t yet build the Rebirth Trust in the books, but we can, together, reach out and make a frightened man or woman and maybe their children a little happier at Christmas by knowing someone is thinking of them. Our target is to buy all those in a local shelter a gift at Christmas, including children, and also ensure they have a Christmas card to say they’re being thought of.
Our second target is to donate a gift card to a shelter for them to buy necessities for the clients there. Believe it or not, things like toiletries and clothing are scarce, and we can help aid a shelter with this.
​
And our third target is to donate money to the shelter for items such as new bedding, extra beds, a safety fence or counselling, extending their premises, helping with security, or maybe updating a children’s playroom or playground. Of course, we would ensure that the donation is spent wisely and in benefit of the people who reach out for help.

So please, for those who are vulnerable, let them know that they are not alone at Christmas and never will be. Domestic violence has touched each of us at one time or another, whether ourselves, friend or family member. This isn’t a Trust mentioned in my books, so what is it? I did a competition in my Facebook Group to send a deserving person a gift. I received several emails asking for a food card for a family member. Together with Jules Ford, Emmaleigh Loaders Wynter, Nicola Thorpe, Chasity Mahala and Jordie Howes, we are setting up a GoFundMe site to raise money for families who’ve fallen on hard times through no fault of their own. Many years ago, I was in an unpleasant situation, and without the kindness of strangers, my children wouldn’t have had a Christmas. Many families, especially in the last few years, have fallen on hard times. Covid lost so many jobs it was a crisis. Sickness and unforeseen injuries also add up.
​
Our target is to raise money to send families a Christmas Hamper, with the key ingredients for a main and evening meal. Many food banks are closing when the need for them is at an all-time high. We’d also like to put a gift card in for fresh food, turkey, veg, and dessert. And also provide a box of chocolates for them. Seems quite simple, really, but we can’t do it without you. We’d also like to provide some small gifts that can be picked up when they collect their hamper from the food bank.
​
Our second target is to provide either a voucher or goods ourselves, for food banks to help bolster them at Christmas and through the year. Too many people are in need and may not realise that this year could change drastically for them.
And our final goal will be announced in August/September with a PO Box number for you to send cards too, so we can include them in the packages.
​
Most people, at one point in their lives, will need a helping hand. We are reaching out asking you to help us help others survive a difficult time and allow them a helping hand to get back on their feet. I got back on my feet. Now it’s our turn to help others, but we can only do that with your help.
